MANE COMPARISONS

All too many lion owners in the United States have jumped on the Barbary Bandwagon so to speak, making claims that their lions are Barbary Lions, based on the fact that they have a large mane.  The mane is only one of MANY traits of the Barbary, and in more cases than not anymore, the true Barbary Lions in captivity don't even have the noted mane.  Within populations, manes can vary greatly.
